Being over 40 brings a sense of confidence and self-acceptance that comes from years of experience. As an African-American woman, I love the clarity of knowing what truly matters, prioritizing meaningful relationships, and pursuing passions without hesitation. There's a freedom in letting go of societal expectations and embracing authenticity. This stage of life offers the opportunity for growth, allowing me to inspire and guide the younger generation while continuing to learn and evolve myself.
How do you stay fabulous?Most women believe that staying fabulous means regular visits to the salon, diet and exercise, and avoiding drugs and alcohol. But it goes much deeper than that. Staying fabulous also involves reading widely, engaging in community activism and stepping outside of your comfort zone to find fulfillment in helping others. By embracing these aspects, you can lead a vibrant, fulfilling life that goes beyond the basics, and celebrates everything that you have accomplished and all that’s still to come!
What would you do with the $40,000?If I had $40,000, I would establish a scholarship fund in memory of my mother, who passed away three years ago (just seven weeks before my 40th birthday). I'd allocate a portion for an emergency fund to cover unexpected expenses. Then, I would invest in a diversified portfolio to build long-term wealth. I'd also consider furthering my education or skills through courses that align with my career. Lastly, I'd set aside some money for travel, creating memorable moments with my family and friends.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
