The self worth I developed after years of just focusing on others. The ability to be calm with my youngest child. My relationship with my older children that is now a friendship. I love the appreciation for time; we don’t realize how much we waste and lose when we are young. My love for music that has always been a mental health relief now includes genres I was ashamed to claim like jazz! I think we have to embrace the body we gain by 40 also, it’s evidence of my sacrifices good or bad.
How do you stay fabulous?I am a very conscious consumer of all things. Food is mood for me so I try to keep a healthy balance between pleasure and principle. I work out at least twice a week in whatever capacity I’m feeling. I read to maintain my faith in an higher power. I call and check in others which makes me feel good. I try to treat each day as a gift.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would pay off some family debt. Get a third ear piercing. Purchase a record player and vinyl. Take my older daughter’s on a trip. Stock up my freezer. Invest in my coffee inspired clothing line. Put away a portion in a IRA. Enjoy some pleasures I’ve left behind due to cost like pedicures and expensive soap. Relax a little.
