I love that I don’t let my age play a major role in my life. I go on solo road trips, I go on girls trips out of the country, and I still laugh every day and can be goofy at work and make people laugh to get through the rough day of working in healthcare! Sure my bones ache a little more and I don’t have as much energy as I used to, but I’m just gonna roll with it and keep moving.

I stay fabulous by finding the good in everything. Working in healthcare is extremely stressful at times and as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator it’s often my job to talk with families and residents who might also be stressed out and remind them to stop and take a deep breath and remember everything will be alright. The joy I bring people makes me feel fabulous. Making people laugh makes me feel fabulous. Being happy with who I am and who I’ve become makes me stay fabulous.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in May of this year. I have been getting chemo since July. In December I will be getting surgery for double mastectomy and reconstruction and can’t work for 4-6 weeks. I will then again need another surgery a few months later, needing the same amount of time off work. It would be helpful to not have to worry about my bills during that time, as I live alone. I would also use the money to put up a fence for my three doggos!
