I love the calmness in my spirit. I love being comfortable in my own skin. Growing up I was very chubby. I was bullied and laughed at because of the way I looked. That experience propelled me to turn inwards and focus on what I knew I was good at. A ‘quiet confidence’ began growing in me. I kept moving in my journey one step at a time all the while reaffirming that my looks and weight should not be a hindrance in excelling and truly living and giving the best of myself.
How do you stay fabulous?Losing a sibling in the blink of an eye in 2017 reaffirmed in me the value of time. Prayer keeps me grounded and humble. My family is my everything. I have a passion for dance, travel, learning new cultures, trying different cuisines and meeting people from all walks of life. Come rain or shine, I never leave the house without sunscreen.
What would you do with the $40,000?Winning the $40, 000 would give me the opportunity to travel back home with my husband and two babies so that my dad and sister can meet the new addition to the family for the first time. Being far away from my entire family and support system has been one of the most challenging experiences. Starting over halfway across the world came with its own financial challenges among other things. So part of the funds would go a long way in easing my transition to this new life I am building.
