Mom of 4, grandmother of 2. I keep active and eat healthy so I can keep up with my growing family. I love my life at age 54!

When I turned 40 it was hard to enjoy that birthday because I was so hung up on the number and worried about aging. At 42 I was diagnosed with cancer which really changed my perspective on what is important. I now view aging as a beautiful process, and each year is a gift which has helped me be more confident in my own skin. I love the growth in my self confidence, that is a unique gift of age that I will always appreciate.
How do you stay fabulous?I am surrounded by my loving family and supportive friends, and time with my kids and grandkids fills my heart with joy. While my grandkids keep me young at heart, I also enjoy staying active with weight lifting, Pure Barre classes, hiking, skiing and playing pickleball. I enjoy socializing and meeting new people but I also enjoy some quiet time and self reflection. I love a girls' night out as well as a date night with my husband. I think balance is key in all areas of life.
What would you do with the $40,000?My sister passed away from pancreatic cancer at the young age of 48. Losing her and going through my own battle with cancer has given me a new appreciation of life and the importance of gratitude for the special moments in every day. I would use this gift as an opportunity to pay it forward with a donation to Purple Stride which benefits research in pancreatic cancer. I would also take my entire family on a trip somewhere fun!
