Connect What do you love about being over 40?

I love how much life makes sense to me now. I look at life as an adventure not a scary place like I did in my 20’s and 30’s. I started. Painting and drywall business with my son 4 years ago and love my days. I look forward to the next adventure life brings me. The best part I get to work next to my son and we can have some of the best conversations about life, funny memories from the past and dreams for where our business is headed. I wish I had the confidence I have now 40 years ago.

How do you stay fabulous?

I think it’s having empathy for others that keeps me humble and kind and that in my book is a great recipe for fabulous. I think human kind short changes itself when we forget to show empathy for others. The old saying you don’t understand someone until you walk in their shoes is so very true. We need to feel what others feel when we can see others struggling and get on their level then we can appreciate what they are going through and show them love and compassion and truly mean it.

What would you do with the $40,000?

I would invest a chunk of it back into my business so it continues to grow. I would donate to several shelters in the area both human and animal. I’ve thought about how my business can give back to the community by starting a non profit that would help folks out who struggle with home repairs they can’t afford so maybe I could use this money to help launch that effort.
