My 40's seem to be when I have really found the confidence in myself and time to pursue my mission to broaden perspectives and debunk myths about autism. At 42 I went back to school to get my doctorate and did my doctoral research on autism inclusion in the classrooms. That has led to my research being published in 4 academic journals! Also in my 40's I have written and published 2 books on the topics of autism in the family and autism in marriage and became an autism content creator!
How do you stay fabulous?Also in 40s I have realized while I still have the drive and ambition of a 20 year old, that is not how the body works! Age may be a number, but the body still ages! In the last 5 years I have committed to better self-care to help me not get compassion fatigue working with neurodiverse family and marriages. Rest, time away and spiritual disciplines have been key to staying fabulous over 40!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would invest into my businesses Autism Spectrum Resources for Marriage & Family and NeuroDiverse Christian Couples to upgrade some technology for the podcast and for future self-publications. Secondly, I will invest in me, rest, leisure and travel to see my adult children who no longer live in my state who are being fabulous in their 20s and living their best lives! 3rd I will create a scholarship to help get coaching/counsel for those in neurodiverse families/marriages.
