What I love about being over 40 is that I learnt to live in the present and not worry so much about the past or future. My recent pancreatic cancer diagnosis played a huge part in it. My world came tumbling down right after my diagnosis but I gave myself a week to feel all the sorrow the pain, the guilt and the shame that it bought with it, being from a South Asian family my parents still hide the fact that, I was diagnosed with cancer to many of my relatives
How do you stay fabulous?I am currently going through chemotherapy and most days are quite challenging just getting out of bed is harrowing ordeal, but I do yoga and go for walks and do stretches and practice gratitude and meditation every morning. I put on a nice wig and do make up and keep my chin up and put on my dazzling smile and never let a bad day get to to me
What would you do with the $40,000?This year after being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer has been a nightmare, I had surgery that led to sepsis and delays in getting back to chemotherapy so I will go on a much deserved vacation after all the trying testing time. It was stressful enough that my only child was leaving to college now add the burden of being diagnosed with cancer and diabetes. It doesn’t get any harder than this year has been. I would also donate a percentage of the winning to Pancan which helps other pancreatic pts
