Being over 40 has brought me a deep sense of purpose and strength that I didn’t have before. It’s a phase of life where I’ve grown through unimaginable challenges, yet found the power to rise and help others in the process. My experiences, especially the loss of my 17-year-old son to gun violence and the incarceration of my other son, have shaped me in ways that no one could prepare for. These painful moments forced me to dig deep, to find value in life when everything seemed to fall apart.

Make time for quiet moments to recharge, reflect, and focus on self-care. Surround yourself with friends who uplift and inspire you, sharing joy and laughter. Balance adventure with peace, and stay connected to those who support your growth. That’s how you maintain your sparkle and keep thriving!
What would you do with the $40,000?With $40,000, I would invest in my mother’s grieving group to expand our support for parents facing the unimaginable loss of a child. This funding would assist with funeral costs for families overwhelmed by sudden, unexpected tragedies. It would also help grow our outreach, provide more resources, and ensure no parent navigates this painful journey alone. Every dollar would go toward easing their burden and honoring their child’s memory with dignity.
