40 is a distant memory. I love being over 40 because I've been on a continuous journey of self-improvement, shedding the old skin and working to become my most authentic self. I'm dedicating these years to pouring into myself to see what blossoms. I have time to dig deeper, linger longer, and explore any interest. As someone who has always been creative, this will be my most prolific time in life, painting, writing, and becoming more fabulous each year.
How do you stay fabulous?I love to walk and am fortunate to live a 5-minute walk to the beach. My favorite outdoor activity is beach combing. Living where the mouth of the Columbia River dumps into the Pacific Ocean makes for some exciting finds. Swimming is another way I stay fabulous, but I don't swim in the ocean. The water here is too cold! We have a lovely public swimming pool with specific adult swim times on the peninsula, where I meet with friends. Finding alone time and time with others is fabulous.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would finance the trip I've been wanting to take. Amtrack has several lines that run through US National Parks. I want to take up to a year to explore, with layovers in specific spots. I would need train passes, a sleeper car, and money for food and motels. The result would be a hand-illustrated zine about our National Parks. I love this idea because I could do the things I love: travel, write, sketch, and meet new people, and produce something of value.
