Being 40 + has provided me the opportunity to use my life’s challenges as teachable moments. By changing my liabilities into assets I am gracefully navigating life, turning obstacles into opportunities. I embrace each day as a new journey full of endless possibilities and purposely look for ways to improve myself so that it inspires others. I love that I am able to reach back and walk beside so many as they begin to write their story by creating a safe space for them to heal.
How do you stay fabulous?Staying true to myself through embodying the power of acceptance, being rooted in self awareness allows me to grow in character each day, while remaining mindful that we are all intertwined with one another. Conscious that my actions cause ripple effects to all of those around me. Also, by remaining non-judgmental in my genuine love for others, while maintaining accountability through daily self reflection, so that I can be better every day than the day before!
What would you do with the $40,000?As a bereaved mother of a 16 year old daughter who lost her life to an unintentional overdose, and in long-term recovery myself, meaning I have been 17 years without problematic or chaotic substance use, I would use this money to establish a recovery community organization. A place where those affected by substance use disorder, either themselves or with a family member, can access support services. Including prevention, advocacy, overdose prevention, harm reduction, and recovery.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
