Sarah Reed

For me, 40 was finally feeling comfortable in my own skin. I’m proud of who this scrappy poor kid grew up to be, failures and all!

What do you love about being over 40?

Loving who I am, the lemonade maker with perspective gained from the many lemons dropped on my plate. I can’t wait to live this next phase of life at peace with myself knowing my boys will also benefit from this new decade of a fabulous me.

How do you stay fabulous?

I take care of myself. I didn’t really do a good job with that until now. I look back and it makes sense, I was raising (and am still raising) a young family, getting diagnosed with ADHD at 34 right before my divorce didn’t help. Today, I focus on things that bring me joy, I watch what I put in my body but don’t obsess. I know how to love and be loved. And most importantly, I have fun!

What would you do with the $40,000?

I would use half to officially launch my first business, Hello Moxy; a professional consultancy that connects business leaders with problem solving solutions, and the support to implement them. I’d invest in advocacy programs for young women with ADHD and I would love to take my boys out of the country on vacation for the first time. Something I didn’t get to do until I was well into my 30s.
