They say, "With age comes wisdom" and life after 40 has only proven that to be true. There is a certain strength that has risen from within from all the battles and triumphs of life. I am now more comfortable in my own skin, I don't care to "fit in" or "keep up" with anyone, I am more focused on improving myself each day to be better than I was the day before and no longer live in fear of anything. I see more beauty in the little things and have more of a desire to make the most of this life.
How do you stay fabulous?I do my best to stay away from negative energy, I have learned that your surroundings can make or break you. I play guitar and I work hard at my career, constantly striving to improve my skills in both areas. I also get outside as often as I can, either backpacking in the woods, going for a run along the river, kayaking with friends - there is just something so unbelievably healing about being immersed in nature. What helps me the most, though, is helping others as much as I can, just because.
What would you do with the $40,000?I'm starting over at 42, so I would put a down payment on a home to begin again independently and pay for school to advance my career. I would plan one great trip with my family to honor my late parents, and the rest, I would use to do something incredible for a youth program in my community.
