My favorite thing about being over forty is the freedom to know who I am and the bravery to actually be that person. For so many years I hid my weirdness, or at least tried to. In my 40s, I say what I want to say, I wear what I want to wear and I am proud of all the weird awkward quirks I'm no longer ashamed of showing the world. My body isn't like it was in my 20s, but i love and respect it much more. I've been through a lot and my body has walked me through those storms with strength.
How do you stay fabulous?I try to eat healthy and regularly exercise, but i find joy in fashion and makeup. I'm a teacher, so you'd think I'd wear broomstick skirts and cardigans. Instead I wear things that make me feel like myself. Which i should have been famous honestly. I love to make an entrance. I wish music played when I walked into a room. I like to encourage others to do what makes them feel fabulous. It's a vibe. I'm a vibe.
What would you do with the $40,000?With 40,000 dollars I could start the process of opening my own school for kids with ADHD and Autism. I don't think school is set up to help certain students meet their full potential. Some students are made to feel disabled or not as good as other people because they can't wake up early, they can't get organized and they have more energy or thoughts running through their minds. I want to make a place where kids like that understand how brilliant they are. Kids like that are our future.
