Paddlin thru it is my fb page where I share beauty through SUPIng. I am flat, but have regained my body, soul and mind after breast cancer.
We would like to thank you for supporting Patty capestro in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
FREEDOM … from the limitations of both my own mind and others. It took me 65 years to learn the life lessons I needed to truly become free. People tell me I glow. It is the self love I have for myself they see. I have embraced my imperfections, difficult life changes and now realize that the hardships I endured are the very thing that makes me fabulous.
How do you stay fabulous?Stand-up paddle boarding is my zen. It frees my mind and soul, while building back my chest muscles. I am completely flat. The result of a bi-lateral mastectomy and a bi-lateral capsular extraction. After undergoing numerous surgeries, chemo regiments and radiation treatments, I was unable to hold a nail above my head. Now I am strong and can confidently carry my board everywhere I float, especially the scenic rivers across the USA. I am doing what truly makes me happy.
What would you do with the $40,000?It will open up a new era where I can help bring this great sport to other breast cancer patients. Stand-up Paddle Boarding can help them as it has me … to accept and love my body again, regain physical strength and to spiritually soar. I would also love to take a trip with my family for some bonding time. They, along with a great circle of friends, have held me up through the dark times. Now it is my turn to shine my light to help others.
