As women age, we get better...stronger, wiser and more confident. I love watching my daughters grow into amazing women. With age comes the joy of seeing your children mature. I feel tremendous pride about each of my girls. I teach them to be advocates for their health and their wellbeing. I'm not sure i realized the importance of this as a younger woman. I also believe that women need to support each other. I have deep female friendships that have lasted through my life and mean the world to me!

I was a full time mom for many years, at 50 I renewed my social work license and began woking in nursing homes doing end of life therapy. Now I see clients privately. I also work at a botox/filler clinic one day a week. I love that women have so many options and opportunities that were not always available. We can forge our own paths, and take care of ourselves on both the inside and outside. I feel stronger and more confident now than ever. I still feel feminine and womanly after mastectomy.

My mom died of breast cancer two years ago. I had a prophylactic double mastectomy and three further reconstructive surgeries this past year. These surgeries saved my life and I was very lucky to have them before getting cancer. I would like to give some money to breast cancer research as this disease has affected my family and millions of others across the globe.
