I love the growth, experience, wisdom, confidence, and knowledge of self. I fearlessly embraced my 40s by solo traveling the world; letting go of fear, judgment and the expectations of others. At 43 I am more forgiving, more open and more content with myself than ever before. As a single woman in my 40s, I love the meaningful life I have created with the people I love. Releasing cultural expectation of needing a partner to achieve fulfillment has been the greatest gift of 43. No settling!
How do you stay fabulous?Creating Art, writing music, caring for my family and my brothers’ children, showing up for people I love, eating delicious soul food, camping, and long walks on the beach all keep me fabulous. Nurturing others while still making time to nurture myself is the balance that keeps me joyful and kind.
What would you do with the $40,000?Creating a music and performing arts center to uplift, empower youth in my hometown of San Diego through music and culture. Having a place where children, families, and community can learn about drumming traditions from cultures all over the world is a vision I share with my brother, Ignacio, the founder of Mundo Music. We hope to create a space where people can connect through shared love of learning, music, and passing on knowledge and culture to the next generation.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
