Being 49 is incredible! I’ve just completed a second master’s degree, this time in instructional design and technology, and as a Dept. Chair, I’m shaping the future. I love staying active—whether it’s biking, hiking, camping, or just being outdoors, it keeps me energized. Helping others is my passion, and being over 40 allows me to combine experience with growth. This stage is about embracing challenges, lifelong learning, and thriving both personally and professionally. Life only gets better!
How do you stay fabulous?Staying fabulous is about balance! I prioritize self-care by lifting weights three times a week, taking gym classes (stretching, etc.) and walking at least 10K steps daily. While helping my daughter with autism spectrum disorder achieve her dreams, I find strength in her progress. I love spending time with my son, who's pursuing his Ph.D. in chemical engineering, and exploring the outdoors with my energetic boyfriend keeps life exciting. It’s a beautiful mix of fitness, family, and adventure!
What would you do with the $40,000?With $40K, I’d help my daughter get a small home nearby, giving her the independence she deserves while staying close to support her dreams. I’d also tackle much-needed house upgrades that I’ve put off on an educator's salary, where extra funds aren't always available. Lastly, I’d treat myself to a trip to Maine to enjoy the stunning coastline—a little vacation after so much focus on others would be rejuvenating. It’s about balancing family, home, and taking time for myself.
