I was a full time volunteer for 17 years (since age 24), I traveled a lot & recenty made a big life change, almost starting from scratch.
We would like to thank you for supporting Maya Rizkallah in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
It is a sweet spot between having gathered enough life experience and professional expertise to make mature & well-informed decisions, and having enough to look forward to. It is also a critical age to look out for your mental and physical health so that middle age is not a crisis.
How do you stay fabulous?I take good care of myself. I work out, practice ballet (a long-life dream which I learned as an adult), and I have been meditating for over 20 years. I am a pescaterian, I don't do substances and I live a rather simple and minimalistic lifestyle, focusing on the things that matter the most. Professionally, I speak 3 languages and I have made myself into a lifelong learner. I try to remain open and malleable. I also care deeply about others.
What would you do with the $40,000?Having been a volunteer for over 17 years, I do not have much life savings but I have learned to live with very little. I have extensive experience in both fundraising/nonprofit management and graphic design/communication. My lifelong dream has been to start a one-for-one communication company that would be funded by corporate projects to serve valuable nonprofit work through low-cost, high-quality design and communication services. $40,000 would be a great start to fund it.
