My North Star has always been “Free to be Me”, and reaching my 40s was the time that I started truly embracing that goal. But at 42 I had a brain hemorrhage that completely upended my life, leaving me with a brain injury. I had 4 sons, a loving husband, and a great career. I thought my life was over. But now here I am at 53, grateful to be on “bonus time,” doing my best to honor my perfectly imperfect self unapologetically and celebrating the body mind and spirit that has gotten me this far.
How do you stay fabulous?As a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and advocate I realized I needed to fill my cup to be able to show up for myself first and then have more capacity for those I love. I started out that journey by embracing and honoring the goddess in myself. Walking, yoga, somatic movement and embracing HRT have made my 50’s the best years of my life. My motto: More Love More Sex More Joy!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would love to invest in developing a goddess workshop for those of us that need to reclaim ourselves. This journey has been the most rewarding and freeing time of my life. There is so much joy in being a woman when you are free of shame about your femininity. The 50s have been the most empowering of my life and I would love to share this with other women on this exploration of self acceptance and love.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
