I went through a big life change at age 42 when I ended my 22 year marriage. It was a hard decision but most definitely the right one! I was reading Gail Sheehy’s book “Passages” and realized I did not want to live the second half of my life in this marriage. Now at age 70, I know who I am and I like her!
How do you stay fabulous?I have been a group fitness instructor since I was 30 (40 years!). I’ve taught nearly every format except Zumba. I have trained over 200 instructors as a master trainer. I teach mat Pilates classes to a lot of young women. I stay fabulous by being fit, keeping up with the current trends in music and fashion. I love pop culture and enjoy social media and podcasts about reality TV and true crime. I returned to sewing most of my clothes after I retired. I have a great wardrobe!
What would you do with the $40,000?My husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 4 years ago. I would use the $40K to pay for a care facility for him. Monthly costs at these facilities is $4-5k/month. I can’t afford that but we make too much to qualify for Medicaid. I’m his sole caregiver. While I’m able to care for him now, as his condition continues to decline I don’t have the skills to take care of him on my own. He deserves better care than I will be able to provide. Sometimes he thinks I’m a poor excuse for a nurse!
