The best thing I love about being over 40 is that I have carefully stowed all my baggage out of the way, unencumbered by any doubt of who I am as a person. Because of that, I glow when I smile and touch those around me with positivity and warmth. It is easier being over 40 to grow in my relationships, both personal and professional, with ease. Ah, ease. Ease is a good word to describe where I am in life: my peace protected as I go through my never-ending quest for more lessons along my journey.
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by maintaining a healthy balance of regimen and playfulness. Being a Type II diabetic, I have learned ways to stay healthy thru a prudent diet and exercise (yoga, walking, light weights). I take care of my skin; I have been heavily influenced by my role as an academic medical center-based nurse manager in Dermatology. However, as a full-blooded Filipina, I relish in my "morena" skin, putting aside lightening agents and aesthetic treatments. Naturally unenhanced and beautiful!
What would you do with the $40,000?Take time to write a book on my experience as a Filipina, born and raised by 1st generation parents and the underlying-yet-to-be-unfolded-until-my-later-years generational and cultural influences upon my life choices as the oldest daughter of two, a girlfriend, a wife, a mother, and finally, now an enlightened and independent single woman. Invest in my consulting business (Belen Consulting Group, LLC) to advocate for patients and their families in challenging healthcare situations.
