I love being a role model to young women of color, especially those brought up in traditional households where there is still a strong belief in patriarchy. I want to young women to feel empowered to choose their own path- whether it is to be married and raise a family or be a single career woman or both! I come from a background where women still need their families approval for their self worth.
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by keeping abreast of the political situations that can affect the impact of education. I am a community advocate for mental and special education needs. I love to travel and explore new cultures with my family. I stay active and find peace and balance in nature.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would like to propel my small business, which is providing transitional and social skills to young adults on the Autism spectrum. I started the business six months ago, but needed to table it for the time being, but love to have some funds to pay the processing dues in order to be Los Angeles County approved.
