What do you love about being over 40?

I have a 4 year old and I love when other women ask me why I made this life decision. My answer, Why not? I am living my life to its fullest potential. He keeps my mind and body young and asserted. Life is too short!

How do you stay fabulous?

I challenge myself daily both mentally and physically. When I am not running 5k races with two of my kids, or being their biggest fan at sporting events, I am organizing community outreach programs for our police department. I also oversee our crisis intervention team and school resource officer program.

What would you do with the $40,000?

I want to start a program for women in male dominated jobs bringing awareness to postpartum depression. Law enforcement is a predominantly male profession. Women get hired, have children, then return to their jobs with little support. Education is key, and most command staff are unaware of how common postpartum depression is and how dangerous it can be. I struggled badly after my first son was born in 2004; this wasn't a topic spoken about or addressed.
