Machiko Harashima

I battled through cancer, lost my job, started a biz, embraced single motherhood, and cooked 1000s of meals for those in need during COVID.

What do you love about being over 40?

I love the confidence and clarity that comes with being over 40. I've embraced my journey, learned from every challenge, and cherish each moment with a deeper appreciation for life.

How do you stay fabulous?

I stay fabulous by focusing on self-care, surrounding myself with positivity, pursuing my passions, and tackling challenges with resilience and optimism. Balancing work, family, and personal interests keeps me energized and fulfilled. I also love listening to music, doing art projects with my kids, taking nature walks, and experimenting with new recipes.

What would you do with the $40,000?

With $40,000, I'd pay my bills, reunite with my mom in Tokyo after years apart (since Selter-In-Place), donate money to the Love 4 Lucas Foundation (https://www.love4lucas.org/) that was started by my brother when he lost his 6-year-old son to brain cancer, and save $20,000 for my kids' education.
