I cried turning 30, hid my age at 40, fell into a funk at 50 and finally, feel unapologetically myself at 60! It’s a journey full of grace.

I’m a late bloomer who’s still evolving and coming into her own. I was so shy as a child, that I didn’t speak. A need to please well into adulthood resulted in a lack of self love and some unhealthy relationships. But finding my voice later in life has meant the courage to be a change-maker. I returned to school in my 50s and I’m now an indie filmmaker, telling stories of heartache, humour, hope and redemption—mirroring my own life and the lives of those around me.
How do you stay fabulous?While I love that I’m far more comfortable in my skin at 60—including the added pounds and life lines—I never want to feel that “staying fabulous” means staying put and holding onto this moment in time. The only thing certain is change and the impermanence of our own life. If I can speak my truth, expand my compassion for others, and honour my aging parents while supporting my grown daughter, then I truly believe I can achieve a fabulous life well lived.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would love to do something generous and kind for my parents. When our famiy business went under nearly 30 years ago, I saw my parents struggle. Now in their 80s, there’s not a day that goes by where they don’t worry about the bills and what happens when they need more care. My siblings and I do what we can to help but I’d honestly do more if I had the means. I also want to support my daughter in finishing school and finding their path. My life is good, but I would love to help my family.
