I have lost 150 lbs, sent diabetes into remission and eliminated medication!
We would like to thank you for supporting Luisa Morrone in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
I am more confident than I was in my 20's and 30's. I was a people pleaser, always doing for others but not for myself. I would say "Yes" when I really wanted to say "No" driven by the fear of rejection or disappointing others. Now I take care of me first. As well, I love fashion but I was obese and couldn't fit into the clothes I am now able to wear. I now enjoy wearing all sorts of different styles, and fabulous outfits in various colors (I used to only wear black or navy).
How do you stay fabulous?I have always been curious and will ask a thousand questions. I am always reading, learning, staying active and creating new recipes. As a diabetic, I enjoy cooking and creating amazing meals and desserts that don't impact my blood sugars or my husband's who is also a diabetic. I was someone who never cared for exercise but now I do weight training and HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). I also love dancing; my husband and I will spend the entire night on the dance floor!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would use a portion of the money to take my family on a vacation as we haven't been away for a while. I would donate some of the money to the Breast Cancer Foundation as I lost one of my favorite cousins to this disease and have another cousin and a friend who have beaten the disease. I would also spend some of it on a new outfit! My late father was a big fan of Gianni Versace so to honor my dad I would get a fabulous Versace dress and wear it the next time I go dancing with my husband!
