My 40's have been some of the best years of my life. I have been married for almost 17 years but with my partner for 27, we have two amazing teenagers who both play competitive hockey, and I run my own successful Interior Design business for the past 10 years. I love the stage that my children are in, independent but they still need me. It's amazing to watch them grow and mature. I have also learned to value the amazing friends I have. I have a strong circle, which I am grateful for daily.
How do you stay fabulous?For the past 2 years I have become very dedicated to fitness and my health overall. I have always been a walker but now I am at the gym 4-5 times a week and walk still almost daily. I have Crohn's disease and am on a very strict diet. I choose to manage this disease with the foods I eat vs. medication. It is healthy and allows me to feel my best daily. I want to be strong and fit going into the last few decades of my life. My goal is to be in the best shape of my life by the time I am 50!
What would you do with the $40,000?Honestly the first thing I would do is look into a family vacation. It has been since before the pandemic that we have travelled all together and I won't have any more years to do so with the kids. Then, I would put a good portion put into my kids education fund. With one in grade 9 and the other grade 11 post secondary schooling is coming quickly! I would give 10% to a charity like our local women’s shelter or for breast cancer research.
