I’ve always held my own, regardless of others’ opinions; but by age 40, I truly stopped caring what other people think about my decisions. I have learned in life that I’m the only person who can and will give me the respect and autonomy that I’ve strived and yearned for so diligently. A younger version of me would make myself sick trying to earn it from others. Now I have just given myself permission to take it. If not me, then who? If not now, then when?
How do you stay fabulous?I constantly challenge myself. I do everything I do with my whole heart, and I choose things that bring me joy. I am diligent with my skincare, and I am an artist with makeup and fashion. I can do anything I set my mind to. I put myself out there. I surround myself with other fabulous women, my strongest supporters and challengers. I embrace change and I push the envelope. I will never be done learning, growing, and doing my best to be an agent for positive change and good in the world.
What would you do with the $40,000?This challenge means much more to me than just the money, but if I do win it, I would put the money into my business. I have started a business where I do all things literary: editing, writing, book art, narrations, and more. Most importantly, I am using this as a way to create a platform where my voice can be heard so that I can be a stronger agent for change in the industry of women’s medical research and care. I want to make waves to make other women’s lives easier than mine was.
