I am a 59 year old Mom of 8 with 20 grandchildren. I work for the Polk County’s Sheriff’s office as a vet tech for Animal Control.
We would like to thank you for supporting Lisa Geer in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
I love the patience that comes with age, being able to put life in perspective. We make mistakes along the way, I used them as learning experiences. Through life experiences, I have found that most of it is out of our control, like losing my brother to cancer when he was 25 or my Lupus diagnosis when I turned 34, but every dream you ever have is within your control! I went to college at 46 for Environmental Biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude at 50! Life began again!
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by pushing myself to live everyday to the fullest, I try to put everything into all I do, whether it is work or my passions. I am a jewelry designer and artist and at one point owned my own brick and mortar. I am a pianist, teacher, veterinary technician and Environmental Biologist. My biggest accomplishment in life is being a Mom and Grammie. I love to stay active doing the things I love; fishing, gardening, hiking and swimming.
What would you do with the $40,000?If I had $40,000, I would be able to pay off my credit debt that I have worked so hard to pay down. I would then be in a better position to make my jewelry business a success and that would enable me to visit my kids and grandkids more. They all live 1200 miles away.
