What do you love about being over 40?

Wisdom! The knowledge of who you are, how to get what you want, and the wisdom to get you there! Gone is the indecisive blurry lines of youth. I can now make decisions for myself that are well grounded and successful. I’m also able to pass this on to my three daughters and my friends as well. Being a breast cancer survivor has also given me perspective on what people go through in life. Living throughtrials helps you to be more compassionate and empathetic towards others when they are suffering.

How do you stay fabulous?

I maintain the best of healthy habits. Plenty of rest and exercise. I’m constantly reevaluating my diet to ensure I get everything my body needs. I also constantly work on my mental health. These days that is so very important. How can we be a light to others if we still struggle in darkness mentally? I also look for new ways to challenge myself. This is so important as we age. It helps to keep us fresh and relevant. I like to support my giving nature by making sure I give to myself as well.

What would you do with the $40,000?

Of course I would pay off my car, which is really the only debt I have, then I would use it to put me in a better position to give to others. Not just financial support but taking time off work to volunteer at my cancer center and other worthwhile organizations in my community. Our lives are further enriched by the love we receive in response to the love we give. As I am single, the financial security would help me to do that more fully.
