What do you love about being over 40?

My most import lesson is to start my day with God, look to Him whenever I am anxious, lost or scared and to always be thankful during the day, and end my night with prayer. My husband and family are my most wonderful accomplishments! I have learned to love all of myself in all of my stages, to recognize that others always need a kind and supportive word every day, never leap to judgement but leave that to God or a jury, and always offer whatever extra I have to support others in need.

How do you stay fabulous?

I start my day and end my day with prayer inviting God to be with me. I focus on giving to and supporting my husband & family. I volunteer with at risk middle school students to help prevent them from dropping out or getting into trouble. And I make time for self care.

What would you do with the $40,000?

I would invest in two programs that support causes with which I have been involved with and I personally know the directors. One tutors students at a low cost and raises grades for every student in her program. She also runs a food truck that employs students to teach them work skills which funds her low cost tutoring program. The second is a non profit dog training program which has expanded to train prisoners to train companion, therapy and service dogs so they have job skills when released.
