I was diagnosed with de novo metastatic breast cancer in 1998, I was 34 years old. Against all odds, I’m still here 26 years later.

The freedom of feeling secure in who I am as a person. Cancer has taken many things from me, my breasts, my ovaries, my health, my security but being able to grow older is such a precious gift.
How do you stay fabulous?I stay creative and make connections with other cancer survivors on social media (TikTok specifically) and being an advocate for flat closure to be presented as a healthy and equally valid post mastectomy option.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would travel, with my husband of 34 years, in comfort to see my brother in Germany who I haven’t seen in about 15 years and to try to meet and hug the many flatties I’ve met online over the past 10 years along the way.
