I love being a role model to the young women in my life, which includes nieces, and the next generation of social workers I help train and supervise. Leading by example, I show them what a fun, well lived life looks like. I am the first one to hit the rock wall at a work celebration, then turn around and have a meaningful conversation with my teenage nieces, as they navigate college tours and heartbreak. I feel wise. The kind of wisdom that only comes from time spent living.
How do you stay fabulous?For me, it starts with physical and emotional health, which includes taking care of both my brain and body. I do this by spending time with people I love, having meaningful work, and being close to nature. I camp, travel, run and climb New England mountains. I l will arrive at the office in heels, with hair and makeup fully done, only to spend the weekend sleeping in the woods and drinking from a stream. I am glam and tomboy all rolled into one. This is my secret to being fab over 40!
What would you do with the $40,000?My practical side would explore high interest retirement plans while my adventurous side would book a trip to Italy. I have never been to Europe and dream of seeing Vatican City. I also have a twenty-year-old son in college, and while I am helping to fund his education, the winnings would soften this financial commitment. Honestly, the idea of winning $40, 000 dollars doesn't seem real. Although not fully decided, I would take my time in determining how to use this gift of a lifetime.
