I finally gained the strength to walk away from an extremely abusive 17 year relationship in January. It's my biggest accomplishment!
We would like to thank you for supporting Lacy Bowen in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
The freedom to be ME. I celebrate and enjoy my weirdness. I am more confident and more tolerant. I am willing to love to and give it freely because I understand how little we have in this world. I've always been born to serve.. after 40.. it became my life purpose. I volunteer 28 hours a week, I work full time with Alzheimers patients, and I have found the purest, most beautiful peace..
How do you stay fabulous?I suffered a lot of abuse in the last 17 years.. most of my teeth were knocked out and I was made to stay in the house. I entered into this relationship a confident, beautiful, self assured woman and was, over the years, dismantled. Since I've left, I've started going to the gym regularly and I've just 40 pounds. I bathe everyday now, because my depression has began to subside, and I make sure to spend the first 10 minutes of my day in a prayer of gratitude and love. That's how I start fabulous.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would give myself my smile back. I'm a naturally happy person, I make a difference in people's lives and I want to be able to smile at them without embarrassment. I can do everything else.. but I would love to have help with my smile. It's the most important part of a person's personality .
