At 47, I'm moving away from tech and toward my passions for fitness and lifting women up by opening a pole fitness studio for EVERY body.

My 30s were not easy! With my younger son being on the autism spectrum and NOT meshing well with school (to the point I was on call every day, and they eventually asked me to bring him in for just lunch and specials) and my older son going from playing football and rugby to being in a wheelchair and having no idea why, that decade is a bit of a blur, and I'm just thankful we all made it out alive. My 40s have brought on a newfound freedom, and I am loving things being more about ME for a change!
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by remaining curious and continuing to learn new things every single day. In doing so, I've really grown and am rediscovering who I am - in my 40s! And now, moving away from a secure career to focus on a business in an area I'm passionate about (but to be honest, don't know much about) is so exciting! Every day brings a new challenge, and I'm here for it. Whether it's through books, documentaries, friends, family or life experiences, I never stop learning, and neither should you!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would use the $40,000 to help open my pole fitness studio. My vision is to have a studio where EVERY body (regardless of age, gender, color, fitness level, etc.) is welcome to come together without judgment and get the best, most fun workout of their lives! I know first-hand what it's like to be a woman pulled in many different directions all day, every day and wanting to feel sexy and empowered - if even for just an hour. My studio will provide the atmosphere for this, and so much more.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
