Soon to be 45, I’ve finally accepted I’m a consummate nerd. I don’t feel it’s too late to learn a third language or take an astrophysics course 25 yrs AFTER college! I REALLY love that I can connect with and hand feed my hummingbirds now too! I enjoy my husband and I growing into our truest selves together. I’m embracing my newfound confidence to speak openly to the world about our struggles & successes (like writing a book about our failed IVF). With age comes liberation to live authentically!
How do you stay fabulous?Self discipline! (I’m actively working on it in every aspect of my life now and it hasn’t been easy). I’ve learned that self discipline is the greatest form of self love there is! My self care disciplines are meditation in nature, prayer, eating healthier, learning new things (both artistic and academic) and actively “dating” my husband! A good pedicure and massage keeps me FEELING fabulous as well!
What would you do with the $40,000?I would use $1,500 to take a long weekend getaway with my husband since we never had honeymoon. (You know, to stay fabulous!) The rest I’d invest in starting a benevolence fund for the women of our non-profit to provide financial assistance specifically for needs like rehab, childcare and professional/medical counseling. I’m blessed because of others, so I’d pay it forward in hopes to bless other women.
