At forty, I care less about what others think and more about focusing on what brings me joy in life. There is too much focus when you are younger on fitting in and measuring up, but at forty, I’m past all that. I am who I am shaped by all the experiences that brought me to this age. I am proud of the person I’ve become and what I’ve accomplished. And at 40, there is still so much life left- it’s such an exciting time.
How do you stay fabulous?For me, staying fabulous is a combination of things! It is such a relief when you can stop trying to please others and focus on you. A combination of faith, time with friends and family, good food, and fitness keep me fabulous. Traveling nourishes my soul, church nourishes my spirit, and Pilates nurtures my physical body. For my hair and skin- moisture, heat protection, and sunscreen are key!
What would you do with the $40,000?I’ve been working on starting a travel blog for everyone but with a focus on women traveling solo so I would use part of the money to help me grow that business. A portion would also go to one of my favorite charities, likely, Lifeline Crisis Pregnancy Center in Wilmington, NC which helps women with unplanned pregnancies get education and support.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
