Being over 40 gives me the confidence to share my wisdom, experiences, and talents to mentor and to serve others. At this age, we have so much to offer. In my 40’s and 50’s, I focused on my career and family. Now in my 60’s, I can use what I have learned to make a difference in my community. I now have the time to volunteer and devote my time to organizations that are important to me. My motto is to SMILE - See Miracles In Life Everyday! Being over 60, I now have more time and do just that!
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by taking care of myself by working out regularly, volunteering for Downs Syndrome Alabama, Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama, and Alabama Wildlife Center. After retiring from education, new doors have opened! I won the Ms. Senior Alabama pageant and will be competing in the Ms. Senior World Pageant in November. I’ve also begun modeling designer evening wear and sportswear for a women’s clothing store. Retirement is not the end of my youth, but a new beginning.
What would you do with the $40,000?My husband and I have been blessed over our lifetime. As an 18-year breast cancer survivor, I’d like to donate to breast cancer research. My grandmother and aunt both died of breast cancer at a very young age (43 and 60). Because of them, I caught mine early. Continued research will help us conquer this disease! I’d also like to share the winnings with my adult children and husband and take a family vacation to somewhere we’ve never been!
