I am the Public Relations Agency Owner of KD Public Relations, a DV survivor, and a mom of two with ASD who are seeking higher education.
We would like to thank you for supporting Katherine De'Na Parker in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
I love the fact that my perspectives have changed. The way I view people has broadened. I was raised extremely Conservative, but my lived experiences have taught me to open my eyes to the plights of others, who lived life completely different from 'my world view.' The way I think, the way I feel, the way I love...it's all extremely different from the way I was raised. I appreciate the growth, because I am able to inspire the public on a much broader spectrum by sharing my recovery story.
How do you stay fabulous?I work on my self-care, implementing all that I have learned throughout my years in mental health and Mass Communications, such as singing, spending time with family and friends, running and being kind and patient with myself.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would love to re-invest into my community. I am the Vice President of Natchez Adam's Council on Mental Health (NACOMH), a newly formed non-profit organization in Adam's County, and I would love to re-invest a portion of the winnings into NACOMH. I would also love to pay a few bills that are quite important to get paid. Relaunching KD Public Relations (7) months ago has been exciting, but costly. Lastly, I would like to re-invest into my business, hiring an assistant, because I am exhausted.
