I used to dread the 4-0. I always wanted to stay 25. But when I bought in my 40th birthday while getting prepped for breast cancer surgery, I started looking at 40 differently. I wanted to live beyond 40 and live it fabulously. So I love waking up every day being over 40 and being able to tell someone to go get their mammogram because early detection is the key. I love being able to spread kindness by simple gestures as we never know what someone is facing. I love being over 40 unapologetically.
How do you stay fabulous?I stay fabulous by not sweating the small stuff. I am so grateful for my life. I feel that every time I am able to uplift another person it increases my happiness and of course you need happiness to be fabulous. I always have something with me to encourage others. This was something that started as a lesson that we were teaching our children. How an unexpected act of kindness can put a smile on someone’s face or make their day better. Many times it’s handmade items that we make. Just fabulous!
What would you do with the $40,000?Since I was diagnosed on January 2nd with breast cancer and this was a very big surprise to us as I had no symptoms or red flags, we were not at all prepared to step away from work. My husband and I are both real estate agents and with six children this has been a very difficult year. The money would go to many NEEDS for our family. I would also like to continue to spread kindness gifts around the world. There is a vision to help change the view of breast cancer and the bridge to 40 also.
