I was diagnosed at 45 with a rare birth defect requiring open heart surgery. After months of rehab and setbacks, I am a survivor! Fab 40+

I love the fact that I have “grown into” my true self. I am proud of how far I have come and excited about where I am going.
How do you stay fabulous?I try my best to maintain a spirit of positivity. After learning about my birth defect, I was also informed that there is only a 1% occurrence in the population and that the condition usually results in sudden demise. I have learned to make every moment count and to reflect and be grateful for the small things!
What would you do with the $40,000?I lost a great deal of time from work due to my illness and surgery which caused a major financial crisis for my family. Winning the $40,000 prize would help to alleviate the strain from the deficit this has caused. However, I also believe in “paying it forward.” I have always had a heart for the homeless and prior to my current decline in finances, I was able to contribute regularly to aid many of the local people in my area. I would use some of the funds to organize an event on a larger scale.
