Being told I probably wouldn’t live to be 20 years old, and now making it to twice that age!

I was born deaf and with a congenital heart defect, and I had multiple surgeries as a child. I’ve lived my life with passion, and never let anyone tell me I couldn’t do things I wanted. Now at 41 years old, I am able to spread to others that they can do anything if they only believe. I am so grateful for this experience, it allows me to appreciate my life even more. I want to honor all of the women who have overcome struggles, including my family members who have fought against breast cancer.
How do you stay fabulous?To me, being fabulous at 40 is telling everyone that they're not alone, as we all deal with life everyday. Life is hard and there aren’t always perfect moments. I try to do everything that my body needs, and celebrate today for what it is, because you never know what tomorrow brings. I love telling stories to make everyone feel good about themselves. I love to travel, and be with family and friends. My own motto is “Life is a Hope”!
What would you do with the $40,000?Whether I win Fab over 40 or not, I’m glad to have the experience and be able to show others that they’re not alone. However, if I win the $40,000 I would give some of the money to Breast Cancer charities, and CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) causes which are near and dear to my heart (literally). Finally I’d love to help my daughter achieve her dream college, and also travel to some places I haven’t gone to yet.
