I love that ladies over 40 earn their beauty through experiences, successes, failures, discipline, and tough life lessons. I love the confidence, wisdom, and resilience that is accumulated. Older ladies are granted permission to misbehave and embrace the funny. I love that while over 40, I developed a clearer sense of purpose, humility, and peace. Growing older, I never take for granted health, humor, and happiness!
How do you stay fabulous?Giving back from a place of strength, overcoming hardships, working hard to raise 2 smart daughters (as a single mother 100%), caring for cancer patients 2003-2018, serving as cancer researcher and scientist 2018-2024; serving as Ambassador/medical advisor to Oncidium Foundation (educating patients, helping cancer patients globally gain access to to life saving cancer therapies, facilitating logistics to help patients access needed medical care). Exercising daily and nourishing mindfully.
What would you do with the $40,000?I'd use the $40,000 to develop a youth education program on preventative medicine (nutrition, personal hygiene, movement, & mental/ emotional wellness.) As a physician who has treated hundreds of underserved children, adolescents, and adults, I've seen the clear, urgent unmet need for earlier health education on the "basics of self care" for prevention of disease. Hopefully, this program will help our youth gain a critical understanding of preventative medicine.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
