I left my career to return to school and pursue my dream. Now, I am about to start my PhD in Psychology (Neuroscience)!

Being over 40 rocks! I love the life experience and wisdom I can bring to my new career and academic pursuits. I also possess a level of comfort in my own skin and confidence that, sadly, was not present when I was younger. I love being a positive role model to the young women in my life, demonstrating that they can do anything they put their minds to, no matter their age!
How do you stay fabulous?In addition to playing a lot of tennis, which keeps me healthy, I attribute most of what is fabulous about me to the people in my life and my work. I am blessed to have a strong network of amazing people supporting and loving me no matter what. My work and research are very important to me. I research Parkinson's Disease, and it is impossible not to feel fabulous knowing that I am (hopefully) doing work that will benefit a population that has come to mean so much to me!
What would you do with the $40,000?I will start my PhD in January, and my research program is very demanding. The $40,000 would allow me to work fewer hours outside of academia and devote my time and attention to where I can make a meaningful difference: researching Parkinson's Disease!
