So many things! Having lived a full life with all of the challenges and celebrations that come with it, I feel like my compassion and empathy have grown enormously. I’m stronger and yet softer. I love the wisdom, humility and humor that I’ve accumulated as I’ve aged. I definitely don’t sweat the small stuff. I know who I am and what’s important to me and have created a community that’s reflective of that. And I love how I can now use my experience and wisdom to lift others up. The 50s rock 😊
How do you stay fabulous?It’s a multi- pronged approach, haha! Seriously, it’s about balance- investing daily in my mind, my body and my spiritual connection. I exercise outdoors 3-4 times per week, I prioritize healthy eating and good sleep, and I have healthy boundaries. Work- life balance is critical. I prioritize time with family and friends, and showing up for causes or volunteer opportunities that are meaningful. I also laugh… a lot.
What would you do with the $40,000?First, I would give to local causes that I believe in, which right now are Austin Pets Alive (the largest no-kill animal shelter in Texas) and also Central Texas Food Bank, which provides meals to our food insecure neighbors. As a former special ed teacher, I want to give some money to my former school, which is in an underserved community. I’d like to take my family and friends on a great vacation (with scuba diving!) Finally, I’d put money into my growing Transformational Coaching Business.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
