I am a mom of 2, a social worker in youth addictions and mental health, and team athletic trainer for my daughter's tackle football team.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jamie Cardamone in this year's competition. Your support helps us contribute to the National Breast Cancer Foundation who provides early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.
I feel like I'm finally getting comfortable in my own skin and learning to love who I am. I am confident, proud, assertive, and have developed strong boundaries based upon my own personal value system. I had trauma growing up and it shaped much of my early years. Becoming a social worker was the healing journey that I didn't know I needed; I feel like I am finally okay with taking up space and being unabashedly ME, which took me until now to get to.
How do you stay fabulous? My daughter plays both tackle and flag football and I am very involved with both sports and the respective teams that she plays for. It keeps me active and busy, and I love seeing girls play such a fierce sport with amazing dedication and commitment. I also love to cook, and it is the one time that i truly just relax. Something about creating a meal that will nourish bellies and souls alike makes me happy. If I wasn't a social worker, I'm sure I would have opened a small diner by now.
What would you do with the $40,000?I would plan a family trip to enjoy all together as we rarely get to go anywhere all together. I would also buy our daughter a "first car", and my son the new skis that he wants (he's a big skiier). The rest I would likely save as economy is tight right now and you never know what the future may hold.
