The advice I would give to my younger self would be to focus your energy on solutions and less time worrying about things you can’t control.

I love how much confidence I have gained as a business owner. We first opened KBX 5 years ago, just before the start of the pandemic. Things started off strong but just a few months after opening we had to close our doors and shift gears. We spent several months teaching online classes and doing our best to keep our members engaged. It was the most difficult time I have been through as a leader but now that we are on the other side I realize how many lessons were learned.
How do you stay fabulous?Spending more time focusing on solutions and less time worrying about problems has improved my mental health, gives me more clarity and productivity. At the end of the day I know that I will find a way to overcome whatever comes my way and find a way to make it work. When you believe in your ability to figure it out you skip past (some of) the worrying and start making progress toward the end goal.
What would you do with the $40,000?We recently found out that that the plaza where KBX is located was purchased by the city and will be developed into a new police station. This news came as a surprise and although at first we were a little upset about the situation, now we are very excited the next chapter of KBX. Winning this prize will go a long way in helping us set up. a new studio that we can grow into for the future. Thank you all for your support!
