Connect What do you love about being over 40?

With age comes wisdom. I believe I know more now but recognize there is still more room to grow. I acknowledge that I’ll continue making mistakes yet never stop learning from them. I now strive to make a difference in the world, no matter how big or small it may be. We never know just how much a kind gesture can help lift someone’s spirit. As we know, being kind costs nothing. We could all use more kindness and love, especially today with all that is occurring around us in the world…

How do you stay fabulous?

This past year was the most difficult of my life. I unexpectedly lost my Mother, who was my best friend. Some days, I feel like I’m hanging by a thread. However, life must go on as my family needs me. I believe my faith, endurance, and perseverance in the face of adversity is what makes me resilient. On my darkest days, I remind myself that someone always has it worse. This humbles me. My Mother would encourage me to wipe my tears and keep going! I hope to be half as fabulous as she was one day…

What would you do with the $40,000?

This money would help our family move into a new home so my father could come live with us. Unfortunately, he recently became very ill and needs round the clock care. I would love to move him out of the nursing home and restore some dignity to his life in his final days. A fresh start in a new atmosphere would be an absolute dream come true right now for us all considering the extremely taxing year we’ve had.
