Being over 40 is about having time & perspective. I’m comfortable in my skin, proud of my strengths and working to be better every day. With our kids out living successful lives, I look back with pride and forward with excitement. I love having time to be active, see the world, and give back to the causes that matter to me. My husband and I recently moved to our dream home in Palm Springs and are building a life here, making new friends and keeping our long-time friendships strong.
How do you stay fabulous?Age is just a number, and the best way to stay young is to be young at heart. I laugh a lot and do my best not to take myself too seriously. I stay grateful for my many blessings, as well as the for the struggles I’ve had, because they’ve made me strong and resilient. I’ve given my time to others, both through professional organizations and women empowerment organizations like the Soroptimists. I recently started playing Pickleball and have loved learning a new skill while staying active.
What would you do with the $40,000?I have been volunteering my time to organizations for years, and I feel I’m now ready to lead a non-profit for a cause that matters to me: homelessness. With the funds, I would establish the non-profit organization and build partnerships with local shelters and churches to provide living essentials for homeless people. In the winter, we will collect blankets, socks and jackets to help them stay safe if they can’t make it to a shelter.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Fab Over 40, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
